At Dissent Coffee Roasters, our mission is personal. Aila, the heart behind our movement, is our daughter—a warrior, a fighter, and an inspiration. She was diagnosed with Aicardi syndrome, a rare and severe neurological disorder that primarily affects girls. This condition causes seizures, developmental delays, vision impairments, and other complex medical challenges. There is no cure, and families like ours navigate an uncertain path, relying on community, research, and support to give our children the best possible lives.

That’s why we created the Aila Blend—a special coffee crafted in her honor, with 15% of profits supporting the Aicardi Syndrome Foundation. This incredible nonprofit provides direct assistance to families facing overwhelming medical and caregiving costs while funding vital research to better understand and treat Aicardi syndrome.
